Below is a list of courses included in my Master's Degree program. Each course is listed with a title, instructor, semester, and description. I have also included some examples of the cousre work I completed during the class. 

ED 870 Capstone Seminar
Instructor: Mathew Koehler
Semester: Fall 2013

ED 870 is the final course in the MAED program. In this course students create a web based professional portfolio. The website gives the reader insight on a student academically and professionally.

This course is designed to teach about classroom managment in any classroom that includes special education students. Students share their classroom managment ideas along with being introduced to new strategies to try.

TE 831 Teaching School Subject Matter with Technology

During this online course students are required to explore different technologies that may be useful in the classroom. Students explore glogster, wikis, blogs, google apps, and many more online technologies. 

CEP 843 is a crash course on all things Autism. It introduces course memebers to autism and how it effects families, academics, and communities. This course was a great intrdution to what to expect when working with an ASD student in the classroom. 

This course is an introduction to Special Education. Students learn the process of writing an IEP and the components of IDEA. Students are also asked to explore different types of Special Education students and how to best teach them in the classroom.  

This course focuses on the inquiry of education. The topics of this course include teacher research, history, and curriculum inquiry. As one of the first classes taken in the MAED program its purpose is to provide a foundation to get students thinking about education. 

During this course students are introduced to teaching methods for accommidating all literacy learners. The main project in this course is a child study. My child study focused on a student with difficulties in phonics. I conducted assessments and created and carried out lesson plans to help the student grow as a literacy learner. 

This course is a science inquiry course. Everything I learned or was assigned within this course applied to my internship in a first grade classroom. Through this class I learned how to teach my students to become scientists and investigate science content. 

TE 803 is part of the teacher internship program. Through out this course students learn how to teach age appropriate Social Studies content.

This course was taken as part of my internship year program. During this course we focused on literacy in the classroom. We also created literacy lesson plans that would be aplicable to your student teaching placement.
